Private Parties and Make-Up Lessons
This weekend was officially makeover weekend! I had two group waxing and make-up parties and two private one on one make-up lessons. The make-up lessons are probably one of the most rewarding things I do. I have the clients show me their make-up and their usual routine. I re-vamp and clean house and teach them how to use what they have and recommend what they should be using. Simple changes, simple steps and they have a new fresh daily look and they feel so great about themselves and how they present themselves to the world. We have so much fun and I absolutely love it!

Happy Halloween!!!
I had so much fun transforming Monica and her two daughters into spooky Halloween characters. Her youngest daughter, Liv, wanted to be Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was so excited to find these great spider eyelashes that totally made the look! For her sister, Gina, she wanted to be a pretty pirate. So I used a touch of vaseline on her cheekbones and under her eyes to give her a bit of a sweaty, sultry look. I also used bronzer, blush and a gold lip to make it look like she'd been in the sun a lot. For Monica, the Little Red Riding Hood, I kept her make-up clean and simple so that her red lips would pop next to the red blood from the wolf marks. Transformations complete! Happy Halloween!!!

Kristin's Big Day!
This is Kristin. She's been my friend for over 15 years and I was so happy when she asked me to do her make up for her wedding. Kristin has such beautiful, big blue eyes so I really wanted to bring them out. We used a strip lash that was a bit more natural, cut them in half and curled them twice. I also did a few coats of mascara to really enhance them. Her hair was done by Melissa Smith. To see more of Melissa's work click on her link to the right. Thank you, Kristin, for letting me be a part of your special day. You make a gorgeous bride!

Soft and Sweet
Yesterday I was able to meet some great ladies. Emily, Holly, Karen and Shannon were going to be a part of wedding and wanted me to come and help them look their best. Since it was for a wedding and they wanted to look classically beautiful, we kept it simple. Each of these girls had such beautiful, bright eyes so we were able to do great pops of purples and plums on the eyes that enhanced their eye colors. It just worked perfect that their bridesmaid dresses were this beautiful magenta! Thank-you ladies for letting me be a part of this special day!

Making the Teenage Years a Little Easier
This is Jeremiah. It makes me so happy to see this smile on his handsome, flawless face. As we all remember when we were teenagers, Jeremiah suffered from teen acne. When I first saw him, he was on antibiotics and a prescription cream from his dermatologist. His face was extremely red, sensitive, and covered with blackheads and whiteheads. His skin was angry, stripped dry and it was just getting worse and worse. He was self-conscious and frustrated. I can remember going through the same issues when I was in High School. I was happy to help.
We started by getting him off of all prescriptions and creams for 2 weeks so that I had a clean slate to work with. It's a good idea to do this so that you have a clear picture of what the skin truly needs. Then I was able to analyze his skin and re-vamp his daily regimen and nurture and heal his skin. Once we were able to do that, we started gently attacking the acne. Every two weeks I did a pumpkin peel, extractions and a calming mask. The key with Jeremiah was for him to get in the habit of following my home care instructions and not skip a step. Together, we have come along way and now look at how great his skin looks! Since I didn't think to take a before picture, I asked him if he had one I could use and he said that he hated the way his skin looked so bad that he never took pictures of himself! I'm so happy to say that that has since changed and he is now picture perfect!

Hair and Make-up
This is beautiful Ana, a friend and long time client. She was going to her cousin's wedding today and needed me to do her hair and make-up. I started with her hair wet. I put a dime size amount of anti-frizz, then sectioned it out and blew it out with a round brush. Once it was all straightened out I curled it away from her face with a curling iron. For her make-up I wanted to brighten her up. I did this by dabbing a tiny bit of orange lipstick under her eyes, yes lipstick. The orange canceled the purple, then I went over it with a light concealer. I blended everything with a matching foundation and set it with powder. Ana needed a bit of contouring to bring out her cheekbones, so I used a highlighter around her outer eye bone and top of cheekbone. Then we used a darker tone and a bronzer under the cheekbone, top of nose and hair line. Then blended, blended, and blushed all the way to the hair line. This creates more structure to the face. Remember when you are trying to hide or shrink something, go darker. When you are trying to enhance something, go lighter. We did some half lashes to bring the outer corner of her eyes up and put a lighter shadow towards the inside of the lids. These tips keep her eyes light, bright and uplifted. A little hairspray and a dab of lipgloss and she was ready to go!

Make-up Class
Before
Tonight was so much fun. I went and had a personal make-up lesson at MAC. I love learning new tips and tricks and seeing all of the latest products. Tonight we focused on creating flawless skin using contouring and highlighting. It really adds a lot of depth and dimension to the shape of the face. And re-learning how to achieve that glow, especially for brides, was a fun reminder. We also did a basic, every day eye, then amped it up for a night time look. I also practiced how to use eyeliners combined with shadows and how to blend the two to get different looks. It was neat how she taught me too. We both took off all of our make-up and started from scratch showing me on her face, than I would copy her on my face. This experience was a perfect example of why I have the best job in the world. So much fun, I love it!!!
